Man sought on murder charges linked to Friday night homocide

Suffolk Police have secured warrants for the arrest of man on second degree murder charges in connection with a Friday night shooting.

Alvin Lorenzo Bryant Jr., 42, of Suffolk is being sought and police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Bryant faces charges of second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by felon.

He is wanted in the shooting death of David Joshua Gomes, 37, of Suffolk, in the 300 block of Beech Street on April 7.

Police said in a news release that Bryant is still at large and was last known to be operating a gold 2001 Honda Accord with Virginia tags TXJ-1714.

Suffolk 911 Center received a call in reference to the shooting at 7:23 p.m. Friday.  When officers arrived, an adult male was located suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a news release.  Gomes was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

There is no suspect information at this time. The investigation remains ongoing. Police said there is no further information available for release.
