After eight months in the interim role, Jennifer Moore was named director of media and community relations Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Suffolk City Manager Al Moor made the appointment. Moore joined the City of Suffolk in April 2022 as assistant director of media and community relations. She assumed the interim director position in June 2022.

Moore brings more than 17 years of public relations experience from both the private and government sectors. Before her time with Suffolk, she spent almost 10 years with Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority as communications and government relations director. Her background also includes marketing, business development and leadership program coordination. 

Moore is a graduate of Virginia Wesleyan College (University) and an alumna of Lead Hampton Roads and the Lefcoe Leadership Program.
