The Norfolk Southern railroad crossing on South Main Street at Hall Avenue is set to close next week for maintenance and repair.

Suffolk Public Works traffic engineering advised of the closure in a posting on Facebook.

Weather dependent, the work is expected to start at 6 a.m. Sept. 12, and is estimated to be complete on Sept. 16. Public works officials said they plan to provide an update closer to the date of closure.
