The 32nd annual Nansemond Indian Nation Powwow kicked off Saturday under bright sunny skies. After a two year hiatus, the annual event returned to the delight of many.
Those who weren’t able to make it out Saturday to see the dancers, buy a gift or get some Indian Tacos, don’t worry, there’s another chance Sunday.
The gates will open at 10 a.m. with the grand entry ceremony at 1 p.m.
Take the entire family out for some free, good, wholesome, educational fun. Learn about the Nansemond Indian Nation and discover the historic way of life that thrived along the great Nansemond River.
The powwow is located at Mattanock Town, 1001 Pembroke Lane, which runs off Godwin Boulevard across from Oakland Elementary School.
