On Saturday, June 4, 2011, Mrs. Beulah Mae “Pressie” Robinson Skinner, entered peacefully into eternal rest from her place of residence at 1302 E. Washington St. She was born on April 29, 1931, in Suffolk, Va., to the late Lucille Robinson Sykes and Gavin Jones. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Willie Ann Parson Robinson Byrd; grandson, Breon C. Robinson, and great-grandson, Donnell L. Porter.

She was a member of Saint Timothy Baptist Church. She was a hair stylist for over 30 years and was employed with Parker Peanut Company for more than 20 years.

Beulah leaves to treasure her memory, 10 children, Beverly Jackson, Ronnie W. Robinson (the late Alice), Laverne Weaver-Dododzah, Yvonne Gray, Shelia Wiggins  (Sydney), Carolyn M. Copeland (Kent), Gregory Robinson, Johnnie A. Robinson (Pamela), and Denise Skinner, all of Suffolk, Va., and Alnesa Skinner of Gates, N.C.; 35 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sylvester Jones (Margaret), and Deacon Karl King (Vivian) a devoted lifelong friend, Rosa Kearney and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ms. Skinner will be on view at the funeral home, Thursday, June 9, from noon to 7 p.m. and Friday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The family will receive guests at the home of Laverne Weaver-Dododzah, 1964 Carolina Road, at all other times. A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 11, at St. Timothy Baptist Church, 1613 E. Washington St. and a mausoleum entombment at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
