On Tuesday, July 12, God in his infinite wisdom dispatched an angel and called Apostle Raymond J. Wiggins II from labor to reward.
Wiggins was born on Feb. 11, 1954, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond J. and Arrie Dell Wiggins Sr. in the city of Suffolk, Virginia. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, Suffolk. He also was a veteran of the United States Army.
Wiggins served in several church fellowships including First Jurisdiction and Third Jurisdiction COGIC, and the Suffolk District. Finally, in 1992 he established TrueWay Fellowship Churches Inc. He presently served as the pastor of Total Grace and Love Worldwide Center (Freedom Temple) and the prelate of TrueWay Fellowship Churches Inc.
His survivors include wife, Connie D. Jackson Wiggins; two sons, Avron (Suffolk) and Raymond III. (Jennifer) of Newport News; daughters, Shawna Wiggins Brown (J. Damien) of New Orleans and Tracy of Suffolk; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laurie Lawson and Peggy Wiggins;and four brothers, Raymond Todd, Darrell, Eddie, and Harvey Wiggins. He is predeceased by one brother, Charlie Wiggins Sr.
Services are at 7 p.m., Friday, July 22 (Class B attire/black suit with full clergy collar) and at noon, Saturday, July 23 (Class A attire/robed). Both services are at 1241 W. Pembroke Ave., Hampton, Virginia 23661. There will be absolutely no pictures, video or touching allowed at either service. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
