A collision involving a tractor trailer and a car killed a woman in Chesapeake Wednesday, July 20.

City of Chesapeake Police responded to the intersection of Route 58 and Snowden Street late in the afternoon when they received a report of a serious accident, according to a news release

Once on scene, police learned that a tractor trailer was crossing the eastbound lanes of Route 58 from Snowden Street.  As the truck was crossing, a sedan that was traveling eastbound on Route 58, crashed into the side of the trailer.

Police said the adult female driver of the car was killed as a result of the accident, according to the release. The name of the victim and others involved were not available because accident investigators were still on scene when the information was released.
