Armando Sosa pleaded guilty Monday to murder and other charges in the August 2007 death of Leon Jones.
Sosa pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted robbery, three counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony and maliciously discharging a firearm in an occupied building, said Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney James Wiser.
Sosa tried to rob several people at Jones’s Nansemond Parkway apartment. Jones resisted and was shot by Sosa, Wiser said.
Sosa will be sentenced Sept. 9. He faces up to life in prison plus 36 years for the crimes.
