Working on behalf of the Suffolk Department of Public Utilities, a contractor Monday will install valves on the existing water main that serves Cedar Point subdivision and the Cedar Point Golf Club.
Service interruption will begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to be complete by 3 p.m. The valves are being installed to allow for the isolation of the water main in the vicinity of the ongoing construction for the Reserve at Cedar Point development in the 9000 block of River Crescent.
This work will reduce the number of homes affected by future water service interruptions that are required for the connection of the new development’s water system to the existing water system.
The following areas’ water service is anticipated to be affected Monday:
- Cedar Point Golf Club
- Heron Court
- 9024 (not including 9029) through 9159 River Crescent
Other areas within Cedar Point are not expected to be affected. If weather or other conditions do not allow for the work to occur on the date noted, the work will be rescheduled with an additional informational notice sent out.
Contact the Suffolk Department of Public Utilities at 757-514-7019 for information.
