Do you have the best holiday decorations in Suffolk? If so, we want to see them!

This festive time of year really brings out the best in folks’ decorating prowess. We love to see them all, from the traditional to the modern to the gaudy, and everything in between.

Our new “Home for the Holidays” photo contest encourages people to get recognized for their great decorations. Any interior or exterior decorations — lights, wreaths, garland, Christmas trees, fireplace mantels, decked-out porches, Christmas villages, nativity scenes, inflatables and more — are eligible for entry into the photo contest.

The winner with the most votes gets a $100 gift card prize. That might help you defray the costs of some extra gifts — or the next electric bill.

So be sure to go online to www.suffolknewsherald.com, click on “Contests” near the top, and submit your photos. Remember, high-quality photos will give you the best shot of winning, and photos with people in them will not be accepted.

After you’re done, tell all your family, friends and neighbors to vote for you and submit their entries, too.

Photo submissions will be accepted through 11:59 p.m. Dec. 12. Voting opens at 9 a.m. Dec. 13 and lasts until 11:59 p.m. Dec. 22.
