School bus involved in crash

Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident involving a Suffolk Public Schools bus Monday morning.
Emergency Communications was notified at 8:36 a.m. advising of the accident at the intersection of West Washington Street and Bute Street in downtown Suffolk involving the occupied school bus and a passenger vehicle, according to a city press release.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel provided emergency medical assessment at the scene. No one was transported; however, the parent of one of the elementary students indicated she may take the child for further medical observation by personal vehicle, the press release stated.
There were 25 students on the bus bound for Elephant’s Fork Elementary School.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
