Police investigate shooting

Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours Saturday.
Officers responded to the 600 block of Cedar Street extended at 3:54 a.m., according to a city press release. When officers arrived, they found a woman had been injured in the incident. She was treated on scene and taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Several shell casings were located in the area, and two residences were found to be struck by gunfire.
The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and there is no further information available for release.
