To the editor:

Having had the honor and privilege of representing the Sleepy Hole Borough on Suffolk’s City Council for the last nine years, I have come to have an appreciation for the work that Ron Williams has done as city treasurer.

As treasurer, Ron has implemented an effective and efficient revenue collection, investment and management system that has put City Council at ease.  Ron’s financial management has given City Council the necessary tools to adopt a balanced budget each year that funds Suffolk’s public schools as well as public safety.

Simply put, I know that when council adopts the budget each year, Ron will effectively and efficiently collect, invest and manage the funds that are appropriated to core city services.

Looking ahead to the future, we need Ron’s financial management experience to ensure the city has the financial stability to retain our AAA bond ratings from every major rating agency, keep taxes low, build a new fire station in North Suffolk, and complete the new central library downtown.

It is my hope that the citizens of Suffolk will join me in voting to re-elect Ron Williams as Suffolk’s city treasurer.
