Garland Saunders Whitley, 88, of Zuni, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 23, 2021. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Whitley; son, Garland G. Whitley; and daughter, Janet Kello.

He was a lifetime farmer of Isle of Wight County that loved his family and extended farming family.

He is survived by his granddaughters, Anne Ellis and Amber W. Hossbach (Andy); grandson, John C. Kello “Scooter” (Sara); great-grandchildren, Matthew Tayloe, Thomas C. Ellis, James W. Ellis, Alexis A. Ellis, Dylan W. Kello; great-great-grandchildren, Giavanna Hossbach and Luke Tayloe; daughter-in-law Brenda Whitley; son-in-law John Wayne Kello; niece, Sue Georger and husband Robert and their children; and special friend Steve McKee

A graveside service will be conducted by Rex Alphin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27 at Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 26, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com
