Keep Suffolk Beautiful is excited to partner with ForKids at its upcoming Recycling Drive and Tire Amnesty event on Nov. 21.
ForKids is a nonprofit organization that provides services to families and children experiencing homelessness and poverty in Southeastern Virginia. Event organizers are hoping that residents dropping off unwanted recyclables or disposing of old tires will also support this local charity with a food or toiletry donation. Becky Lyle Pinkard, external relations manager for ForKids, says, “We are always looking for non-perishable food items, toiletries, deodorant, and all things that make bubbles, such as hand soap and dish soap.”
Keep Suffolk Beautiful would also like to thank the team at ForKids for taking the time to do a litter cleanup last month in downtown Suffolk. Kathy Russell, chairperson for Keep Suffolk Beautiful, says, “We are really grateful to the wonderful people at ForKids for helping to keep our city clean, and we are only too pleased to support them by accepting donations at the drive. We also want to mention we collect eye glasses and hearing aids for the Lions Club.”
