Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020, God dispatched his angels to usher his faithful servant home. Mr. Theodore A. Jackson, age 73, was affectionately known as “Mack” to family and friends. Theodore was born July 22, 1947, to the late Joseph and Susie Graves Jackson Sr. He was a native of Suffolk, and attended East Suffolk High School. He was preceded in death by his sibling, Florine Glover, and first wife, Christine Ashe Jackson.
Mack worked at Newport News Shipbuilding as a shipwright worker in Dept. X11. He later worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard for many years as a master shipfitter in Shop 11. During this time, he became an entrepreneur and established H&J Hauling, LLC. As time went on, he obtained rental properties and added this to his list of achievements. He was no stranger to hard work. He often referred to himself as “a self-made man.” After retiring from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, he continued to grow and expand H&J Hauling, LLC, and his rental properties.
Theodore was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church, where he devotedly served on the Usher Board Ministry. His faith grew tremendously during the last two years of his life. He loved to fish and to be on the water. His favorite sports were baseball and football. He loved his family and treasured his grandchildren.
