Robert Lee White, 81, of Golden Hill Road, Elberon, received his Crown of Life from our God on April 17, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and faithful friend.

Robert Lee White was a native of Surry County until God called him home. He was the son of the late James H. White and Ethel M. White of Surry County. Robert was a faithful member and deacon of Mt. Calvary The Holy Church of God, Smithfield. He attended Surry County High School. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after 43 years of dedicated service. Robert was a devoted provider for his family and served the Lord faithfully.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Azurea White, after 53 years of marriage; also by devoted daughters, Comarth Saunders, of Hampton, and Corine Simmons (Ronald), of Bronx, N.Y.; sisters, Lillian Wilkes, of Columbus, Ga., Betty Whitmore and Sarah White, Glen Allen; brothers-in-law, James Robinson (Cecilia) and Omega Robinson (Linda), of Suffolk, and Timothy Robinson (Willa), of Newport News; sisters-in-law, Luefras Robinson, of Fredericksburg, and Argi Godwin, of Hampton; goddaughter and family, Lorraine, Wilmon, Lauren, Andrew and Wilmon 4th Lee; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, James White.

Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2020, at Christian Homes Cemetery, Isle of Wight. The family will receive friends from 1 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk.
