Police investigate shooting

Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting incident that happened Wednesday evening.
According to a city press release, an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound was dropped off at Suffolk Fire & Rescue Station 3 about 6:08 p.m. The victim received emergency medical assessment and treatment from Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and was taken to a hospital by ground ambulance with what are considered non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation found the incident occurred in the 400 block of Oak Street, the press release stated.
