I have concerns about the high water bills in the city of Suffolk. Citizens are struggling to pay their bills and they keep either getting “turn off” notices or water cut off every month. Families with small kids can barely survive these big bills.

To make it worse, the water department adds old bills to your current bill when you move, and you have two water bills until you pay them off. You have your monthly bill plus your payment arrangement. If you cannot keep up with your payment arrangement, your water is cut off, even if you pay your regular bill.

I know that for sure. I have been behind on water for three years. I have to ask family to help me pay my water when I cannot catch up. I know I’m not the only one dealing with these high water bills. Who is supposed to regulate the water company in Suffolk?
