Suffolk City Manager Patrick Roberts has declared a state of emergency in advance of any potential impacts due to COVID-19.
The state of emergency was declared at 2 p.m. Friday.
“A state of emergency declaration ensures that our city will have the appropriate level of assistance and allows us to coordinate with the commonwealth in our response and recovery efforts as it relates to any potential impacts from COVID-19,” a city press release stated.
