The Nansemond River High School boys’ basketball team snagged a win over Deep Creek High School on Friday.
The Warriors went to 11-10 on the season after the win against Deep Creek. Nansemond River won 80-36 and has gone 2-2 in the last four games. Trey Chapman led the way for the Warriors with 22 points on 9-17 shooting, which included 5-7 from beyond the arc. Omar Branch added 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Pat Cutler and Luke Williamson added 11 and 10 respectively. Jakari Joy had eight assists on the night.
In the second half, the Warriors really turned things up defensively, limiting Deep Creek to only nine second-half points. The Warriors were missing five players, including two starters, which made the win even more impressive.
