Former Nansemond-Suffolk Academy football standout Daniel Griffith earned the Paul Fredrick Cobb Award for the Virginia Tech football team.
The Hokies recently announced their team awards for the season, and Griffith was chosen for the Paul Frederick Cobb Award, which goes to the teammate with the most spirit. The award is given in memory of VT football player “Freddie” Cobb, who was awarded the Navy Cross for his heroism in Vietnam. All of the team awards given out were voted on by the players.
Griffith just wrapped up his redshirt junior season for the Hokies. He played in 13 games this season on special teams for the 8-5 Hokies and has contributed on special teams the last three seasons. At NSA, he helped the Saints to a state title starting at linebacker.
