Knights continue to find stride

The Suffolk Christian Academy boys’ basketball team continues to find their stride at the top of the year.
The Knights have played four games into the new year. SCA played in a tournament last weekend and went 2-1 and took a loss to Summit Christian Academy Monday night. However, Coach David Daniels still feels good about the team and where it sits.
“I feel like we are in a real good spot right now,” Daniels said. “We are starting to gel as a team. We have been matched up with teams that are kind of on our level the last couple of weeks, and we have been able to play pretty well.”
Now that the Knights are in the conference play part of their schedule, they feel good about their chances of finishing the season strong. The Knights feel like the conference is relatively even and see the possibility of finishing at the top. Down the stretch, Daniels and the Knights feel they can finish games better.
“We want to make sure we are playing a full four quarters,” Daniels said. “Sometimes we will play a solid three quarters and might not finish the fourth quarter as strong as we should. Sometimes (we have) a stretch of a couple of minutes where we may let the game get away from us sometimes. So, we want to make sure we are working on just making sure we are keeping consistent for four quarters.”
There have been no major injuries so far this season, so the Knights have the opportunity to find their groove. The Knights will compete in three games this week.
