Noon Year’s fun for youngsters

The Suffolk Public Library is inviting families bring their children to celebrate the new year just a little bit early on Tuesday.
The library will hold its “Noon Year’s Eve Party” on New Year’s Eve next week, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at both Morgan Memorial Library, 443 W. Washington St., and the North Suffolk Library, 2000 Bennetts Creek Park Road.
This event allows young children to enjoy New Year’s festivities without having to stay up too late. Families with children of all ages will enjoy a countdown to the balloon drop at noon, plus plenty of crafts, snacks, dancing and more.
The event is free and open to the public, including crafting supplies and refreshments, while supplies last. A library membership is not required to attend the event.
“Kids can stay up past their naptime to ring in the Noon Year with Suffolk Public Library,” said Youth and Family Services Coordinator Jane Gagne. “There will be dancing, crafts, photo ops and a balloon drop so little ones don’t have to miss out on all the late-night fun.
“Get ready to make some lifelong memories and dance your way in to 2020!”
