Hazardous materials spill closes Bridge Road lanes

UPDATE: The road has reopened.
Earlier: Suffolk Fire & Rescue and Suffolk Police are on the scene of a hazardous materials spill on southbound Bridge Road.
Two southbound lanes are shut down from Walden Road to Shoulders Hill Road, according to a city press release.
The spill happened Friday morning as a tanker truck carrying wastewater and jet fuel was traveling with a valve open before being stopped, the city press release stated.
The fluid was spilled on an estimated quarter-mile to half-mile stretch of road.
A private hazmat company is on the way to assist.
