King’s Fork High School football standout Garrett Williams made his Temple University commitment official Wednesday afternoon.
In the early National Signing Day period for the class of 2020, Williams decided to make his commitment official by signing his National Letter of Intent. Williams committed to Temple over the summer and has now reassured his decision.
“It feels great to make it official,” Williams said. “The city has been showing me a lot of love.”
Williams finished up his senior season recently helping the Bulldogs to the region playoffs and also earning a win. He was an All-Region selection this year at defensive back and had a nice bounce-back season after a leg injury shelved his junior season just as was starting to pick up steam on the recruiting trail.
“My senior season was there and gone before I knew it,” Williams said. “But I enjoyed it, though, and I’ll have memories from it for some time.”
Although there were other schools at the NCAA Division I level that showed interest in him, the consistency from Temple stuck with Williams and ultimately led to his commitment.
Temple recently wrapped up its regular season with a 8-4 record and will take on the University of North Carolina in the Military Bowl.
