A Suffolk police officer suffered minor injuries after an early-morning crash Saturday.

The single-vehicle accident happened about 5 a.m. near the intersection of Nansemond Parkway and Bridlewood Lane, according to city spokesman Andy Franklin.

The officer was transported to a local hospital, he added.

There is no word on the cause of the crash, Franklin added. It remains under investigation.
