Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

Tamiya Handshaw, sophomore, Nansemond River High School basketball: Handshaw scored 23 points in a 40-plus-point win for the Lady Warriors.

Jayden Epps, sophomore, King’s Fork High School basketball: Epps scored a school-record 46 points in a win over Nansemond River High School.

Ray Bellamy, senior, Lakeland High School basketball: Bellamy went for 19 points in each of the Cavs’ first two wins of the season.
