The Nansemond River High School swim team took a loss to Grassfield High School last Saturday.

The Warriors’ swim teams opened the season up 1-1 after a loss to Grassfield in the second meet of the season last Saturday. Grassfield’s boys’ team took a 94-76 win over Nansemond River.

Nansemond River did have two first-place finishes in two relay events. Will Bonney, Victor Anaya, Cameron Wilkins and Morgan Magrisi took first in the medley relay. Wilkins, Magrisi, Justin Croft and Jonathan Sullivan also took first in the 400 free relay.

On the girls’ side, Grassfield took the 107-63 win. Nansemond River had four first-place finishes with Selby Heyman taking two wins in the 100 free and the 100 back events. Ashlyn Swaim had a first-place finish in the 200 free. The 400 free relay of Olivia Browning, Danae Martin, Swaim and Heyman also took first place.
