The Nansemond River Pilot Club will hold its 14th annual fall fair this Saturday, with numerous items for sale that will help get Suffolk locals into the fall spirit.
The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Nansemond River High School, 3301 Nansemond Parkway. Admission is free, and the selection plentiful.
“We have over 40 vendors, from crafters to direct sales,” said Becky Adams, president of the Pilot Club and co-chair of the event with Suzanne Rice. “We have a lot more crafts than we’ve had in the past, so we’re kind of excited about that.”
There will be craft vendors with homemade jams and jellies, jewelry, artisan soaps, clothing, glassware, purses, home décor and much more. Patrons will also enjoy wares from direct sales vendors, plus a bake sale and door prize raffles.
New this year will be Jessie Lou’s food truck to serve all, from vendors to visitors. It was something highly requested at last year’s event, Adams said.
Proceeds from the event benefit multiple charities, Adams said. They include Camp Bruce McCoy, a summer camp for adults with brain injury; Project Lifesaver, which helps provide peace of mind for the families of people prone to wandering; the March of Dimes; American Cancer Society; and others.
