Fire Marshal probes arson

The Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office has ruled a Monday fire as arson and is seeking the public’s assistance.

The incident in the 500 block of South Broad Street was reported at 11:21 a.m. Monday, according to a city press release. A residence in that area reportedly was struck by a flare fired at the home.

The home sustained minimal damage after Suffolk Fire & Rescue as well as Suffolk Police responded. There were no injuries.
