Lady Cavs get shutout win over Lady Bulldogs

The Lakeland High School and King’s Fork High School field hockey teams matched up Wednesday evening, and the Lady Cavs took the win.
In two games this week for Lakeland, they have outscored their opponents 18-0. After taking a 11-0 win over Booker T. Washington Monday, they took a 7-0 win over King’s Fork Wednesday.
With the home win over King’s Fork, the Lady Cavs went to 1-1 against their rivals and took second place in the annual city championship race, with Nansemond River High School once again claiming the city title.
Alexa Snyder led the way for the Lady Cavs with a hat trick Wednesday evening, while Aryn Kinsey added two goals of her own. Four Lady Cavs scored on the evening. Coach Jamee Albright mentioned that she talked with her team about how important city games are. When she played for Lakeland, it was always about beating the teams in the area to be the best in the city.
Lakeland goes to 6-6 on the year, while King’s Fork goes to 3-7 on the year.
