The Lakeland High School field hockey team earned an 11-0 road win over Booker T. Washington High School Monday afternoon.
The Lady Cavs went on the road Monday afternoon and got a much-needed win over Booker T. The Lady Cavs were led by Aryn Kinsey, who added a hat trick in the win. Callie White added two goals as well as part of eight total Lady Cavs that scored.
At 5-6 on the season, the Lady Cavs continue to push to be better. Coming into the season, Lakeland had only three starters return, so the team has been young and growing with each game of experience that they get.
“We started out the season very strong,” Coach Jamee Albright said. “We have experienced some growing pains along the way, and it has presented us some great challenges. We are still learning and getting better, and as a coach I’m learning to trust the process.”
With four games left in the regular season, the Lady Cavs continue to try to finish the season strong.
“I feel like this team has a lot of potential,” Albright said. “I have hope that they will continue to learn and grow this season, which in turn will make them better players for years to come.”
Lakeland has some much-needed momentum as they face off with rival King’s Fork High School Wednesday evening. Both teams are currently 0-1, having both taken losses to Nansemond River High School this season.
