Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

Jack Van Straten, senior, King’s Fork High School cross country: Van Straten finished sixth out of 120 runners in the fourth Southeastern District meet.

X’zavion Evans, senior, Nansemond River High School football: Evans rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns in a win for the Warriors over Great Bridge High School.

Ian McAninley, senior, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy football: McAninley tossed three touchdown passes in the Saints’ win over Atlantic Shores Christian School.
