The Lakeland High School boys’ volleyball team went on the road and earned a 3-0 win over Petersburg High School Monday night.

Coach Tijuana Napoleon mentioned that the team got off to a slow start but was able to pick up the pace to win in one of three games this week for Lakeland.

“Slow start, but they pulled it together,” she said. “We still have a long way to go, but I still see improvement.”

Part of the progress Napoleon has seen her team make this season is focusing on the areas where they need to improve. Even though the Cavs are not where they want to be at the moment, they know if they maintain their focus and work together, they can get to where they want to go.

“I am seeing them focus more on what they are doing better when we are playing, and they know what kind of mistakes they are making now,” she said. “As they get closer together and bond more as a team, those mistakes will start to get cut out.”
