The Virginia High School League has released its weekly rankings for each region, and the Bulldogs and the Warriors football teams are in solid standing.
With the season a few games in, VHSL has started to release its weekly rankings showing early playoff positioning for every region throughout the state. Nansemond River High School, which competes in the Class 5 Region A, came in at No. 6. The Warriors are the second highest ranked Southeastern District team in their region.
King’s Fork High School came in at No. 5 in the Class 4 Region A. With a 2-2 record, the Bulldogs are currently the top-ranked Southeastern District team in their region. Lakeland High School comes in at No. 11 in the Class 3 Region A rankings, despite a tough start to the season and a tough schedule.
If the playoffs were to start today, both the Bulldogs and Warriors would be in. All three Suffolk schools get back in action Friday, with the Warriors looking to go 4-1. The Bulldogs will work for 3-2, and the Cavs are looking for their first win of the season.
