By Congressman A. Donald McEachin

Last month, my office met with Girl Scouts from the region. I was so impressed with their seriousness, diligence and enthusiasm. Whenever I meet with young people in the district, I am reassured that this country will be in good hands with the next generation.

On Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon at Capital One, West Creek Commons, 15000 Capital One Drive, Richmond, I will be hosting, with Congresswoman Spanberger, a Service Academy Day for students interested in attending one of the five service academies — U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis and U.S. Military Academy at West Point. This is a great opportunity to learn about the academies and the process to apply. Our academies train leaders of the next generation.

This month, we hosted a Mobile McEachin in Suffolk at the East Suffolk Complex on Sept. 19 during the meeting of the Lake Kennedy Civic League. Mobile McEachin is where a staffer travels to the locality to provide easier and more efficient service for constituents. If you were unable to make it and you need assistance with a federal agency, please contact my office at mceachin.house.gov. We are also happy to hear your opinions on issues of the day.

Congressman A. Donald McEachin represents Virginia’s 4th Congressional District.
