Suffolk Public Library will begin its “911 What’s Your Emergency” series of talks on Monday evening at Morgan Memorial Library, 443 W. Washington St.
This series allows attendees to speak with a Suffolk Police dispatcher to find out everything they need to know to use 911 properly: things like when you should make the call and what information you will need to give to the dispatcher.
All ages are encouraged to attend in order to know how to correctly use 911, which will enable them to act quickly and confidently in an emergency. There will also be informational handouts for citizens, according to Barbara Hughes, emergency communications operator for Suffolk Police.
“I am really hoping to educate the citizens of Suffolk about 9-1-1, and its importance,” Hughes wrote in an email.
The “911 What’s Your Emergency” program will be held on Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Morgan Memorial Library. Others will be held on Oct. 25 at Chuckatuck Library and on Nov. 13 at the North Suffolk Library.
