HAMPTON – A 100-lap feature event for the Crossroads Fuel Service Late Model Stock Cars tops a five-race bill this Saturday, July 25, as Langley Speedway continues its 2009 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series campaign with Hampton Roads Toyota Dealers Night.

Along with the Late Models, Saturday’s lineup includes: Atlantic Power Sweeping Super Streets (50 laps); Casey Cycle City INEX Legends (25 laps); EZ Auto of Newport News UCARs (25 laps); and, Rhonnda Claiborne, Realtor HRKC Pro Winged Champ Karts (20 laps). The Champ Karts lead off the racing program, shortly after 7.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, 6-12. “Little Race Fans” (under 6) are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Military members in uniform are also admitted free. Military members in civvies (active-duty or retired, with ID) and senior citizens (60+, with ID) receive a $2 discount off the regular adult ticket price. “Family Packs,” which include two adult and two children’s tickets, are $25 – a savings of $5.

Late Model points leader C.E. Falk held onto the fifth in the latest NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national Top 500. He is 22 points behind fourth-place Andy Eckrich of Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway in Iowa and 39 ahead of sixth-place Ted Christopher of Stafford Motor Speedway in Connecticut.

Another Connecticut, Keith Rocco, maintained the top spot, followed by two-time national champ Philip Morris of Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va.

In the Virginia state standings, Morris holds a commanding lead over Falk. Hampton’s Nick Smith, who is running the full ‘09 schedule at South Boston Speedway (with a few hometown appearances mixed in), ranks third, while Danny Edwards Jr. checks in at 17th.

Super Street driver Ryan Nester is halfway to a very elusive achievement – an unbeaten season. Through seven races, he has nabbed seven checkered flags. He’ll look to extend his streak to eight in a row in Saturday night’s 50-lapper.

The Hampton Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Honor Flight Network will team up as title sponsors when the USARacing Pro Cup Series returns to Langley Speedway on Saturday, Aug. 22, for the Hampton Virginia Honor Flight 250.
