Williams earns Big South accolade

Former Nansemond River High School standout Casey Williams earned the Big South Women’s Runner of the Week Award.
Williams has gotten off to a strong start as a junior at Longwood University. She ran a team best 15:31.1 in the 4K at the Elon Opener. She is the first Longwood runner to earn Big South Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. With her time, she has recently moved into third all-time on Longwood’s 4K list.
Williams is a current two-time team captain for Longwood and during her time at Nansemond River, she was among the best runners in the area and the state. She qualified for the state meet twice and was a three-time team MVP.
