Lady Warriors shut out Lady Bulldogs

The Nansemond River High School field hockey team picked up its first win of the season after a 6-0 win over King’s Fork High School.
Both the Lady Warriors and Lady Bulldogs opened up the season with a nice rivalry matchup at King’s Fork Wednesday evening. Nansemond River was able to get the best of the Lady Bulldogs, shutting them out in the process.
Four Lady Warriors scored, with Halle Fago and Alyssa Cadua making two goals each.
With the win over King’s Fork, the Lady Warriors are poised to try to repeat as city champions, having won the past few years. Next for Nansemond River is a home game against Great Bridge High School at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. King’s Fork will go on the road and take on Hickory High School at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.
