Two North Carolina men were arrested in Suffolk over the weekend on multiple drug charges.

Brandon Lee Riddick, 21, of Eure, and William Matthew Lawrence, 22, of Gatesville, were each arrested on charges including conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act, possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, carrying concealed weapon and possess firearm while in possession of drugs, according to a city press release.

Suffolk Police made the arrest after observing a black GMC truck exceeding the speed limit in the 200 block of North Main Street about 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, the press release stated. During the investigation resulting from the traffic stop, police allege, they found firearms and drugs in the vehicle.

Both subjects are currently being held in Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
