A new farmers’ market in the historic village of Driver continues this Saturday, with added artisan offerings for the local community.

The Destination Driver Farmers’ Market held its inaugural opening last Saturday. This farmers’ market is a rain-or-shine event that will be held Saturdays through Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of the Knot Hole Station and Simply Vintage stores in Driver, 3117 Kings Highway.

Additionally, the Artisan/Village market that occurs the second Saturday of each month will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The farmers’ market is coordinated by Simply Vintage co-owners Mia Copeland, Cindy Chang and Jennifer Johnson — with a special thanks to Ken Parsons of the Knot Hole Station for use of the parking lot, Copeland said in a phone interview.

Customers can peruse fresh produce and local honey, jellies, jams and plants, as well as other items. They can also cool off at a lemonade stand, Copeland said.

“We are hoping to add vendors to the market, so we can provide a nice selection of goods,” Copeland stated in a press release.

Merchants in the historic Driver village wanted to continue the tradition started by B & H Produce, which operated a market in the Driver community but did not return for the 2019 season, according to the press release.

The local community will enjoy more than 15 different vendors in Driver this Saturday between the farmers and Artisan/Village markets.

“Join the merchants in Driver and support the local community,” Copeland stated.
