Did you know that God can still do it for you?
In my pastoral visits to homes, to the hospital, to the nursing homes and even correctional facilities, I meet people along life’s journey who have accepted life the way it is. They seem to have learned to adjust and conform to their surroundings.
One lady was an awesome school teacher; she had been named teacher of the year. She was middle-aged and had everything going for her. But one day she got sick out of the blue and could not walk. I went by to see her the first time, and she seemed high in spirits and believed that her walking troubles would only be temporary. But after one year in the same situation, when I would return, it seemed as though she had become relaxed and content and accepted that this was the way she would be the rest of her life.
This time when I prayed, my prayer was more intense. I wanted her to know, that God can still do it. Don’t ever get content in a state of mind, thinking it’s too late in the day, that He can’t bring what we are looking for or expecting to pass. Because He has all power to do whatever and whenever He wants in our lives.
There are times when we feel as though life has come to a place where our chance, our opportunity has passed us by. Sometimes what we have expected or anticipated has taken so long to arrive, that we have concluded that it’s not going to happen. Some people who have gone through this state of mind have become content, saying within themselves, “I will just accept life the way it is.” When this happens, we must be reminded that God can still bring our moment of change still, at any point in our life.
The man in John 5:1-11 had been at the pool 38 long years. He had been in the same state. He didn’t have anyone to put him in the pool. He had come to a place where he accepted how life was. However, we need to know it doesn’t have to be this way.
- God still has the power. All power!
- God-fearing people must always believe
- God does it for His Glory and our testimony
Yes, He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power that operates in us. He can still change any situation. I know how it looks, and I know how long it’s been. It may not look promising, but if you don’t give up, if you only believe, your breakthrough is upon you. As long as our God lives in us, we are in a position for our life to change. Get your head up, and stay in a positive mindset. Never settle for less, because you have a God who can still do it. Know that our time is still in His hands. He still moves in mysterious ways, and His wonders to perform. Blessings upon you!
