Police investigating shooting of teen

A 14-year-old boy was shot late Monday night on Smith Street and was treated for a non-life threatening injury, according to Suffolk Police.
Emergency Communications received a call around 10:45 p.m. Monday regarding the teen who was allegedly shot in the 400 block of Smith Street, according to a city news release.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue personnel provided emergency medical assessment and treatment, and the boy was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment, according to the news release.
Police say the incident remains under investigation.
