Lady Saints take first loss

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy softball team took its first loss of the season Friday after nine consecutive wins.
The Lady Saints took the 6-4 home loss to Southampton High School. The Lady Saints scored all four of their runs in the first inning and held a 4-3 lead after one inning of play.
Southampton tied things up in the third inning. They took the lead in the fourth inning after a single brought home two runs. Madison Inscoe and Reese Byrd handled pitching duties, with Inscoe taking the loss. NSA totaled three hits, which included a home run from Cierra O’Keeffe.
NSA will go on the road to take on Norfolk Academy at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
