One woman died in a single-vehicle crash shortly after noon on Thursday.

Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the accident in the 3200 block of Archers Mill Road after receiving a call at 12:09 p.m.

Preliminary investigation found the passenger vehicle left the roadway and overturned. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the woman as Kimberly Meiggs Shray, 47. Shray was formerly of Virginia Beach but had been residing in Suffolk.

The cause of death is to be determined, and the investigation remains ongoing, the press release stated.

The roadway was closed for about four hours.
