Clint Wright Jr. was selected second team All-Region for Lakeland High School.
The Lakeland boys’ basketball team secured a top five seed in Class 3 Region A. They lost in the first round of the regional tournament in a tough matchup against Petersburg High School. However, Lakeland was able to receive a representative on the All-Region team. Wright Jr. was selected second team All-Region and led Lakeland with 24 points in their only regional game appearance.
As a junior, Wright Jr. has a solid list of postseason accolades. He was also a first team All-District selection to go along with All-Region. Last season, he was an All-Region selection as well as a sophomore.
“I’m humbled by the recognition I’ve received this season,” Wright said. “My teammates and I worked hard in the offseason to improve from last year’s season. We did that, but we are not close to being done. I thank God, my family, my school and all of my supporters.”
Even though Wright mentions that he never plays the game for the accolades, it is satisfying when he does get selected for them. With the season being over about two weeks ago, Wright is already excited about getting back in the gym and getting better with his teammates.
Keimari Artis, Quentin Livingston and Raymond Bellamy were all honorable mentions.
