Lady Saints fall to Western Branch

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ basketball team took a road loss to Western Branch High School Thursday night.
The Lady Saints matched up with the Lady Bruins for a non-conference matchup. Western Branch got the best of the Lady Saints with a 42-22 win. It was the lowest point total for the Lady Saints this season.
NSA kept pace with Western Branch after the first quarter, when Western Branch only had an 11-8 lead. The second and third quarters put the Lady Saints behind. After three quarters of play, NSA was down 32-12. Both teams tied with a 10-point output in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough in the end for the Lady Saints.
Alivia Giles led with eight points and seven rebounds. Cammy Reid added six points.
NSA went 1-1 on the week. They will take on Cape Henry Collegiate at home Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
