Dual businesses cut ribbons

After seeing success during their opening in September, World Class Realty and Pourfavor celebrated their ribbon cutting ceremony with Suffolk’s mayor and other dignitaries.
The real estate and coffee shop duo are one-of-a-kind, and it all started off with a silly idea.
“I always say it started because Marie needed someplace close to eat lunch,” said owner Tina Smith, referring to principal broker Marie DePedro.
Their first venture with coffee and real estate started in their Virginia Beach office, and when they decided it was time to expand, they couldn’t think of a better place than Suffolk for their second location.
The community-minded business has plans to stick to Hampton Roads, and their community-first approach led to having exclusively Suffolk staff in their coffee house.
“It was super important for us in Suffolk to hire people in Suffolk,” Smith said. “The people here are hometown people. It’s really like stepping back in time.”
The companies also make sure to source everything locally if possible, but they aren’t afraid to look globally to find the very best coffee for their guests. Some of their coffee gets shipped weekly from Puerto Rico.
Mayor Linda Johnson praised them for their ideas and what the business brings to the city of Suffolk.
“This is awesome. What we see here is uniqueness and creativity,” Johnson said. “We can’t thank you enough for making this your home.”
